The Interstate 30 in Dallas, abbreviated "i-30 Dallas", is a
one of the major interstate highway routes and traffic corridors that travels
thru the Metro Dallas area in
generally in a East-West and Northeasterly-Southwesterly
travels into the downtown
Dallas area... and the i-30 is also one of the major interstate
highway routes/traffic corridors that travels across the middle of the Dallas-Fort
Worth Metroplex region in generally a East-West direction.
i-30 is the only
major interstate highway route in the DFW Metroplex area that directly connects the downtown
cores of both Dallas and Fort Worth (see map below).
Sections of the
i-30 in the Dallas area are also called/known
as the "RL Thornton Freeway", the "Tom Landry Highway",
and the "Dallas Fort Worth Turnpike".
